Zendaya, Emmy award-winning actress, has addressed the recent viral circulation of fake wedding photos featuring herself and Tom Holland, clarifying that the images are entirely AI-generated.
The photos, which began trending on Instagram in mid-February, quickly went viral, amassing over a million likes within an hour and sparking widespread speculation about their authenticity. Fans flooded social media with reactions, many questioning whether the couple had secretly married.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Zendaya explained that even some of her close acquaintances were momentarily convinced she had tied the knot. “While I was just out and about in real life, people were like, ‘Oh my God, your wedding photos are gorgeous.’ And I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI. They’re not real,’” she said.
The actress’s clarification highlights the growing influence of AI-generated media and its potential to mislead audiences, even when widely shared by devoted fans.
