Former Senator representing Kaduna Central and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Shehu Sani, has described the support for former presidential candidate Peter Obi as a “drama” driven by tribal sentiments, insisting that President Bola Tinubu will be re-elected in the 2027 general elections.
Sani made the remark during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he appeared alongside human rights activist Deji Adeyanju to discuss the state of the country and its leadership.
While defending the APC-led administration, the former lawmaker said the growing support for Obi was largely emotional and ethnic in nature.
“The support for Peter Obi is drama. Many of those supporting him are from his ethnic background. If Obi becomes President of Nigeria today, nothing changes, everything remains the same,” he said.
Sani further argued that Nigeria’s major political figures are not ideologically different, insisting that opposition and ruling party leaders share similar political thinking.
“Obi, Obasanjo, Atiku, and Tinubu are people who come from the same ideological perspective. They are people who share the same political thinking,” he added.
He concluded by predicting victory for Tinubu in 2027, saying Nigerians are left with difficult political choices.
“Tinubu will win the 2027 elections; the choice we have is between Satan and the devil,” Sani said, Dip Connect Online News reports.
