Grammy-winning Nigerian star Burna Boy has publicly responded following a physical altercation with renowned DJ, DJ Tunez at Obi’s House, a popular weekly Afrobeats gathering in Lagos, on Monday.
According to eyewitness accounts, what began as a heated verbal exchange quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. Reports circulating on social media allege that members of Burna Boy’s entourage became involved before the situation was eventually brought under control by bystanders.
While the exact cause of the dispute remains unconfirmed, online speculation points to underlying industry tensions, particularly DJ Tunez’s close ties to Wizkid a frequent counterpart in comparisons with Burna Boy.
In the aftermath, DJ Tunez, also known as Ogbafia, took to social media with a pointed remark, labeling Burna Boy a “coward” and making a subtle dig by referencing “All Signs of Weakness,” a phrase widely seen as a play on Burna Boy’s project, No Sign of Weakness.
Burna Boy responded with a mocking video that has since gone viral. In the clip, he is seen dancing to Money Constant a track by DJ Tunez featuring Wizkid, DJ Maphorisa, and Mavo while altering the lyrics from “Ogbafia dey my side” to “Ogbafia dey for ground.” He then theatrically falls mid-performance, a move widely interpreted as a direct jab at the DJ.
