JAMB Adjusts 2026 UTME Arrival Time, Shifts First Session Check-In to 7:00 a.m.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a slight adjustment to the arrival time for candidates participating in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), particularly those scheduled for the first daily session.

In a notice shared via its official X account on Monday, JAMB stated that first-session candidates are now expected to arrive at their examination centres by 7:00 a.m., instead of the earlier announced 6:30 a.m.

According to the board, the first session will now commence at 8:30 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m.

“Attention 2026 UTME Candidates: This is to notify you of a slight adjustment to the arrival scheduled time, particularly for the first session, which is now 7:00 a.m. as against the earlier published 6:30 a.m., while the scheduled start time for the session is now 8:30 a.m. and end time 10:30 a.m.,” the board stated.

JAMB further clarified that candidates are not required to reprint their examination slips following the change.

The board noted that the revised timetable applies to all four daily examination sessions from Monday to Friday, with adjustments made across all batches to improve coordination and operational efficiency at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.

The adjustment comes after concerns raised by candidates and parents over early morning travel, including safety risks associated with pre-dawn movement and transportation difficulties for candidates travelling long distances.

The 2026 UTME is scheduled to hold from Thursday, April 16, to Saturday, April 25, 2026, across accredited CBT centres nationwide.
