Nigerian rap heavyweight Phyno sparked widespread attention on Easter Sunday after publicly appealing to activist VeryDarkMan to withdraw his legal case against Blord.
The unexpected moment unfolded mid-performance at the International Conference Centre in Enugu, where VeryDarkMan stood beside the rapper on stage. Addressing the activist directly, Phyno made an emotional plea, urging him to reconsider the ongoing legal action.
“I have a request… whether you respond or not is up to you. My brother, please withdraw the case,” Phyno said, drawing a mix of reactions from the crowd. While he did not mention Blord by name, the reference to the high-profile dispute was unmistakable. VeryDarkMan, however, did not publicly respond.
The case in question involves allegations leveled against Blord, who is currently being held at the Kuje Correctional Centre. He faces claims of criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and the unauthorized use of VeryDarkMan’s identity in promotional material. A court has ordered his remand until April 27, 2026.
Beyond the controversy, the concertvcurated by Director Pink served as a major homecoming celebration for Phyno. The star-studded event featured performances from top acts including Olamide, Jeriq, Aguero Banks, Wande Coal, Cheque, Qing Madi, Evado, and others.
Adding a heartfelt moment to the night, Phyno also brought his daughter on stage, blending personal warmth with an already memorable performance.
