Popular Nigerian sports journalist Temisan Okomi has died, sending shockwaves through the country’s media and sports communities.
Okomi, who was a well-known voice on Classic FM 97.3, was confirmed dead on Friday by Olawale Adigun of News Central.
Reacting to the news in a post on X, Adigun expressed deep grief over the loss. “The worst way to go into the weekend is hearing about Temisan Okomi’s passing. I’m so gutted… This man meant so much to me,” he wrote.
The late broadcaster had built a respected career across several media platforms, including Lagos Television and HiTV, where he earned recognition for his insightful sports analysis and engaging on-air presence.
His death marks a significant loss to Nigeria’s sports journalism industry.
