Former Nigeria captain and coach Sunday Oliseh has praised the attacking prowess of Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Akor Adams, describing them as world-class forwards capable of dominating European defenses.
Since the start of the 2025–2026 season, the trio has collectively scored 51 goals for their clubs and the national team Victor Osimhen with 28 for Galatasaray, Akor Adams with 12 for Sevilla, and Ademola Lookman with 11 for Atletico Madrid.
Despite Nigeria’s attacking firepower, Oliseh highlighted concerns over the national team’s broader performance, pointing to the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for consecutive World Cups as a cautionary signal.
Speaking on Global Football Insights With Oliseh, the two-time World Cup participant said, “We currently have world-class dominance from Osimhen, Adams, and Lookman. It is a pleasure to witness these players in action. They dismantle European defenses, but even the finest fuel is ineffective if the engine is malfunctioning.”
Oliseh urged the Nigeria Football Federation to start planning for the future, warning that several current squad members may not be available for the 2030 World Cup qualifiers.
“The Super Eagles have the talent upfront, but strategic preparation and squad continuity are crucial if Nigeria is to translate attacking brilliance into global success,” Oliseh concluded.
