Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has stated firmly that his decision to obtain the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential nomination form was not with any intention of becoming a vice president.
Amaechi made the clarification on Monday during an interview on Trust TV, where he spoke about the ongoing contest for the ADC presidential ticket and the disagreements surrounding the process.
He argued that if the party is considering a consensus arrangement, it should involve a proper meeting where all aspirants are present. According to him, if such discussions fail to produce agreement, then all contestants should be allowed to proceed to the primaries.
He dismissed suggestions that he might step down for a deputy position, stressing clearly: “Please stop that. I didn’t buy the ADC presidential ticket to become Vice President.”
