Blaqbonez has revealed why he allegedly declined a lucrative offer to join Mavin Records, despite claims that the deal was worth as much as one million dollars. The rapper shared the revelation in a post on his official X account.
According to Blaqbonez, his decision had little to do with money and more to do with his personality and lifestyle. He explained that he is not naturally inclined to maintain a strong social media presence or constantly interact with fans online, which he believes is often expected from artistes signed to major labels.
The rapper stated that he prefers to stay private and mysterious rather than being highly visible on digital platforms. He suggested that the level of engagement required by a top music label would not suit his personal approach to fame and entertainment.
In his words, “Need to get this off my chest before Chanel drops, the reason I didn’t sign to Mavin when they were begging me with a million dollars is because I don’t really like posting. I prefer one tweet per year than engaging my fans. I’m too big for that, I’m mysterious.”
Blaqbonez, known for his outspoken personality and unconventional style, has continued to carve out his own path in the Nigerian music scene. Over the years, he has built a loyal fan base through his music, creativity and distinct brand identity, often standing out for doing things differently from many of his peers.
