Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has revealed why she no longer attends church services physically, citing constant attention from worshippers as a major reason.
In a Snapchat video shared on Sunday, the actress explained that her presence in church often shifts focus away from worship, as people tend to take pictures of her instead of concentrating on the service.
“Anytime I go to church, I am always the one they take pictures of. So I will join online,” she said.
Akindele added that she now prefers participating in church services virtually to avoid the distraction and maintain her privacy.
The actress had earlier, in 2022, publicly identified with the Celestial Church of Christ, noting that she used to attend services quietly at night during challenging periods.
“Every time I have challenges I go to the Celestial church quietly at night for solutions. But I have to stop hiding and publicly identify with the church,” she had said.
