Max Dowman has made Premier League history after becoming the youngest player ever to win the league title, following a breakthrough season with Arsenal.
Arsenal were confirmed champions after Manchester City dropped points against Bournemouth on Tuesday, ending a 22-year wait for the club’s Premier League crown and sealing a memorable moment for the North London side.
For Dowman, just 16, the title caps a remarkable rise that has seen him break multiple records in a short space of time. He first made headlines in August 2025 when he became the youngest player in Premier League history at 15 years and 235 days.
His breakthrough continued later in the season when he scored a late goal in a 2–0 win over Everton in March, making him the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history at 16 years and 73 days. He also went on to become the youngest player ever to feature in the UEFA Champions League in November 2025 at just 15 years and 308 days.
Dowman is set to officially receive a Premier League winner’s medal after meeting the required number of appearances during Arsenal’s title-winning campaign. By season’s end, he will be 16 years and 144 days old, overtaking the previous record held by Phil Foden, who won the title with Manchester City in 2017–18.
Manager Mikel Arteta has gradually introduced the Arsenal academy graduate to first-team football, using him mainly as a substitute. Despite his age, Dowman has impressed with his calmness, technical quality and maturity, quickly emerging as one of the most exciting young talents in European football.
