José Mourinho is reportedly on the verge of making a dramatic return to Real Madrid after reaching a verbal agreement to become the club’s next manager.
Multiple reports indicate that the Portuguese tactician, famously nicknamed “The Special One,” has agreed to the terms of an initial two-year contract with the Spanish giants. The deal is expected to be finalized once all official documents are completed and signed.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed on X on Monday that Mourinho is scheduled to travel to Madrid after Real Madrid’s final La Liga clash against Athletic Bilbao, where the remaining formalities will be concluded ahead of an official announcement.
“All terms have been verbally agreed between José Mourinho and Real Madrid, waiting to sign all documents. Plan for initial two-year deal, JM to travel to Madrid after Real-Bilbao game. The Special One is back,” Romano posted.
If confirmed, the appointment would mark Mourinho’s second spell at Real Madrid, having previously managed the club between 2010 and 2013. During his first stint, he guided the team to several major trophies, including the La Liga title, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.
Although Real Madrid are yet to release an official statement, excitement is already growing among supporters over the prospect of Mourinho’s return to the Santiago Bernabéu.
