Grammy-Nominated Producer Tay Keith Dies at 29, Music Industry Mourns

Grammy-nominated music producer Tay Keith, born Brytavious Chambers, has died at the age of 29. The acclaimed hitmaker, known for shaping some of hip-hop’s biggest records, was found dead in his Nashville apartment during a police welfare check. Authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected in the incident.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, officers discovered Chambers in his Martin Street apartment on Thursday. Investigators said the cause of death remains undetermined pending the results of an autopsy.

Tay Keith rose to prominence in 2018 through his work on the breakout hit “Look Alive” by Drake and BlocBoy JB. The song helped establish him as one of the most sought-after producers in contemporary hip-hop. 

His profile grew even further after co-producing the chart-topping track “Sicko Mode” by Travis Scott, a record that earned him a Grammy nomination and cemented his reputation as a leading force in the music industry.

Over the course of his career, Keith collaborated with an impressive list of global stars, including Beyoncé, Future, Eminem, Cardi B, and several other major artists. His distinctive production style helped shape numerous chart-topping songs and earned him widespread recognition across the industry. 

News of his death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from fans, friends, and fellow musicians, who have remembered him as one of the most influential producers of his generation. His passing marks a significant loss for the global music community and the hip-hop industry in particular.
