Nigerian singer Ruger has been on a break from the music scene due to a legal dispute involving an ex-girlfriend, according to his record label.
The label disclosed this in a statement explaining the reason for the artiste’s absence from recent music activities and public engagements.
It stated that the Bounce crooner became involved in a series of personal challenges after a former partner filed a lawsuit against him.
According to the statement, the singer’s ex-girlfriend is seeking legal redress over alleged “emotional distress” and “damages” linked to their past relationship.
The statement partly read that Ruger “was caught up in a series of personal challenges after someone he dated decided to sue him for alleged ‘emotional distress’ and ‘damages.’”
The label further assured fans that Ruger is expected to return to the music scene in August as he concludes the ongoing legal matters.
