Influencer recalls unfulfilled promises and treasured memories of nine-year-old Bryan, describing him as her guardian angel in an emotional tribute.
Social media personality and self-acclaimed relationship therapist, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has spoken about the depth of her grief following the death of her nine-year-old son, Bryan, admitting that the shock may be something she will never fully overcome.
In an emotional message posted on Instagram on Sunday, she recalled the promises she had made to her son, including buying him an iPad and a bicycle, expressing sadness that he would no longer be around to receive the gifts.
She also reflected on the moments she would no longer share with him, imagining how Bryan would have waited for her return home.
Blessing CEO described her late son as a kind-hearted, confident and intelligent child, saying those qualities would remain central to the memories she holds of him.
She expressed her belief that Bryan was in heaven and vowed to keep his memory alive wherever life takes her.
The influencer also described the emptiness his absence had created, saying her surroundings now felt unusually quiet and cold.
“Sleep well my Dum Dum, mummy loves and miss you,” she wrote, while referring to the late child as her guardian angel.
Her latest tribute comes days after she spoke about the circumstances surrounding Bryan’s death during an emotional interview following her release from custody.
During the interview, she disclosed that her son had reportedly dreamt about his own death and shared the experience with his brother, Darell, her sister, Precious, and her father. According to her account, he did not tell her about the dream.
She further said she learnt while in custody that Bryan had been using two inhalers. She was reportedly informed that he died at a hospital at approximately 6:30am on a Monday.
Reflecting on her return home after spending months in custody, Blessing CEO said the loss had overshadowed what would otherwise have been a moment of relief and happiness.
She also spoke about the guilt she had struggled with since her son's death, adding that she was trying to find the strength to carry on and live in a way that would make him proud.
Blessing CEO was released on bail in late October after spending months in custody over separate alleged fraud cases. The cases remain ongoing, and her release on bail does not amount to an acquittal.
For the influencer, however, the immediate challenge remains coping with the loss of her son, whose memory she says she intends to preserve for the rest of her life.
