Super Eagles forward Akor Adams’ brilliant goal against Algeria has been selected among the top five goals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Adams scored Nigeria’s second goal in a thrilling 2–0 quarter-final victory over the Desert Foxes, coached by Vladimir Petković.
The Sevilla striker was set up by Victor Osimhen, dribbled past Algerian goalkeeper Luca Zidane, and calmly fired into the net in what has now been recognised as one of the tournament’s finest moments.
The strike was Adams’ second goal of the competition, and he emerged as one of the standout performers for the Super Eagles during the tournament.
Other players whose goals made CAF’s top five list are Morocco’s Ayoub El Kaabi, Cameroon striker Christian Kofane, Algeria’s Adil Boulbinan, and Senegal midfielder Pape Gueye.
