Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the removal of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the state-owned New Edo Line Transport Services Limited, Ms Tinyan Otuomagie.
The development was announced in a four-paragraph statement issued on Thursday by the State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Uwuilekhue Idehen.
According to the statement, the Edo State Government informed the public that the governor had approved the termination of Ms Otuomagie’s appointment as Managing Director/CEO of New Edo Line Transport Services Limited with immediate effect.
Following her removal, the General Manager (Maintenance), Mr Smart Aigbodion, has been appointed as Acting Managing Director/CEO of the transport company pending the appointment of a substantive Managing Director.
The statement further noted that Governor Okpebholo approved Mr Aigbodion’s appointment in an acting capacity while the process of selecting a substantive Managing Director is ongoing.
It also disclosed that Ms Otuomagie has been redeployed to the Ministry of Information, where she will be assigned other duties by the Edo State Government.
