Former Big Brother Naija housemate and comedian Aderombi Adedayo, popularly known as Dee One, has revealed that he has been invited by the Nigeria Police Force, Force Intelligence Department (FID), for a routine interview.
Dee One shared the development on X on Thursday, reading out the content of the police invitation letter addressed to him.
The letter, signed by the Commissioner of Police, Force Intelligence Department, stated that the interview is part of an ongoing inquiry and described it as a fact-finding exercise. Dee One was directed to report to the FID Annex Office in Lagos via the OCCIOS team.
Reacting to the invitation, Dee One suggested it might be connected to a video he posted recently, which has sparked widespread reactions. He emphasized that while opinions have varied, he does not regret posting the video and insists he has done nothing wrong.
“If this invitation is about the video I posted yesterday, I have received many calls and heard different opinions. Some people said Dee One was cyberbullying, that I should not have mentioned the President’s son or spoken about the President,” he said.
Dee One explained that the video simply reflected his personal views as a Nigerian citizen about an incident involving the President in Turkey. He added that he would not apologise if the summons relates to his commentary.
Addressing Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, Dee One assured that he would honour the invitation. He plans to report to the police office on Monday and promised to keep Nigerians updated on any developments regarding the matter.
