Spain to Base World Cup 2026 Squad in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Spain’s national football team will be based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, during the 2026 World Cup, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced on Thursday. The city, located about two hours from Atlanta, will serve as their home while they play two of their three group stage matches.

With a population of roughly 190,000, Chattanooga sits on the Tennessee River in the southern United States. Spain’s squad, led by coach Luis de la Fuente, will stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chattanooga Downtown and use the facilities at Baylor School as their training centre.

European champions Spain, who won the World Cup in 2010, will face Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia on June 15 and 21, respectively, in Atlanta. Their final Group H match will be against two-time World Cup winners Uruguay in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Currently ranked as the top team by FIFA, Spain enters the tournament as one of the favourites to claim the trophy. The World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
