Nollywood Star Eniola Badmus Denounces Online Allegations, Threatens Legal Action

Popular Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has publicly refuted recent allegations circulating on X accusing her of involvement in a network linking young women to influential figures in the entertainment and political sectors.

The accusations, which have gained widespread attention online, prompted Badmus to respond forcefully, describing the claims as “false and attention-seeking” and warning that she will pursue legal action against the individual responsible.

“We do not forgive in this zone,” Badmus wrote in a statement on X, emphasizing that authorities will be involved to ensure accountability. The actress’s firm stance has sparked intense debate on social media, with users weighing in on both sides of the controversy.

This is not the first time Badmus has faced online defamation. In 2024, a woman was sentenced to three years in prison for cyber-stalking and defaming the actress, highlighting the Nigerian judiciary’s growing enforcement of laws protecting public figures from online harassment.

Amid the controversy, Badmus also garnered positive attention for sharing a throwback photo celebrating her 15-year weight loss journey, highlighting her advocacy for self-acceptance and resilience in the face of public scrutiny.

The ongoing discussion surrounding Badmus underscores the challenges faced by high-profile celebrities navigating social media in Nigeria and internationally, where allegations whether verified or not can rapidly trend and shape public perception.
