A public dispute between social media activist Verydarkman and brand influencer King Mitchy has intensified, drawing widespread attention across digital platforms and sparking debate among followers over accountability, philanthropy, and political influence.
The clash, which has unfolded through a series of posts and videos, began after Mitchy criticised Verydarkman’s online commentary style, accusing him of targeting individuals unnecessarily and challenging him to demonstrate tangible impact beyond social criticism. She also publicly demanded ₦50 million for school renovation projects, arguing that meaningful action should accompany public advocacy.
In response, Verydarkman denied ever attacking Mitchy and alleged she had been provoking him since 2025. He rejected her claims and questioned her motives, insisting her criticisms were unjustified.
Tensions rose further when the activist accused Mitchy of acting as a “political tool” after she highlighted renovation initiatives reportedly linked to prominent figures, including Seyi Tinubu. He suggested the timing of the projects could be politically motivated ahead of the 2027 elections, a claim that has fueled sharp reactions online.
The disagreement also revived earlier friction between the pair, including disputes over commentary surrounding the death investigation of late singer Mohbad, which Mitchy previously said diverted attention from justice efforts.
Observers note that while the confrontation remains confined to social media exchanges, it has divided public opinion, with supporters on both sides defending their preferred figure’s stance on activism, influence, and public responsibility.
As of now, neither party has announced legal action, and the dispute continues to trend online, underscoring the growing impact of influencer rivalries on Nigeria’s digital discourse.
