Trump Knocks Grammys, Floats Legal Action Against Host Trevor Noah

U.S. President Donald Trump has criticised the Grammy Awards, branding the ceremony “virtually unwatchable” and accusing its host, Trevor Noah, of making a false and defamatory statement about him.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump described the Grammys as one of the “worst” award shows, adding that broadcaster CBS was “lucky” to no longer air what he termed “garbage.”

He also took a swipe at Noah’s hosting, comparing him unfavourably to late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel.

Trump’s reaction followed a comment made by Noah during the ceremony, in which he referenced Trump and former President Bill Clinton in relation to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The president strongly denied any link to Epstein’s private island, insisting he had never visited or been associated with it in any form.

“I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” Trump wrote, stressing that he had never previously faced such allegations from the media.

Describing Noah’s remark as incorrect and defamatory, Trump warned that he was considering legal action against the comedian, referring to him as a “pathetic” and “talentless” master of ceremonies, and suggesting his lawyers could seek damages.

Trump also cited past legal battles involving media personalities, saying the outcomes had “worked out well” in his favour.
