Do2dtun Defends Adekunle Gold, Condemns Online Bullying of Afrobeats Star

Nigerian media personality Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, popularly known as Do2dtun, has called for an end to the online bullying targeted at Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold.

The media entrepreneur took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to defend the award-winning artiste, highlighting his immense contributions to the growth of Nigerian music and describing his craft as “exceptionally untouched.”

Do2dtun urged social media users to respect Adekunle Gold’s artistry and personal life, insisting that the singer remains one of the biggest musicians to emerge from Nigeria.

“I think it’s time for you guys to leave AG alone. He gave us classic albums, this guy shut down a whole national theatre; an amazing performer, his craft is exceptionally untouched. I see the most despicable comments about him and his family. Mehn it’s enough,” he wrote.

He further stressed the need for civility and respect in public discourse, stating that people should learn to honour individuals’ life work and creative contributions.

“I believe if we all stand tall in many things in life, let us start with respecting people’s craft and life work. He remains unscarred and he is still one of the biggest musicians to ever come out of Nigeria. Una carry issue turn am to assault and extreme bullying. It’s enough,” he added.

The statement comes amid heightened conversations on social media about celebrity criticism and online harassment, with calls growing for more responsible engagement in Nigeria’s digital space.
