Nigerian Singer Chike Raises Alarm Over Alleged $20,000 Business Fraud

Popular Nigerian singer Chike has publicly accused a social media user, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, of allegedly defrauding him of $20,000.

In a series of posts shared on X on Monday morning, the music star claimed he handed over the money to Ochibili for a business venture, but she allegedly failed to fulfill her part of the agreement.

Expressing frustration over the situation, Chike said he only realized much later that he might have been deceived.

“Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, so you are a thief? That’s how they do. They will tell you they are doing certain business. Her business is to survive on your money,” he wrote.

He further claimed that a larger sum may have been involved in the alleged scheme, adding that he lost $20,000 of his own money.

“$50,000 in the air. $20,000 of my hard-earned money I didn’t see either. How do I find out this late that I’m just another person she has duped? Even me I de laugh myself,” the singer added.

Chike also warned his followers and the public to avoid engaging in business dealings with Ochibili.

When asked about the specific nature of the business transaction, the singer declined to disclose details, stating that the exact type of business was not the main issue.

“Whatever business Chioma sells to you is not the issue. The big issue here is that the business does not even exist, which then equates to fraud,” he wrote.

The singer added that he has already begun taking steps to recover the funds he allegedly lost.

As of the time of reporting, Ochibili has not publicly responded to the allegations.
