The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called on its Local Government Inspectors (LGIs)o deepen the use of digital tools to drive efficiency, innovation, and accountability in service delivery.
The call was made by the Scheme’s Acting Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Kwaghe Joseph Vandi, during a Capacity Building Workshop for LGIs in Abuja.
Vandi highlighted the NYSC’s commitment to leveraging technology as a catalyst for discipline, transparency, and operational efficiency in the administration of Corps Members. He said:
“Initiatives such as the NYSC Integrated System (NIS), monthly biometric clearance, and other ICT-driven platforms have greatly enhanced transparency and accountability. However, their success relies heavily on our Local Government Inspectors.”
He described the workshop as a strategic investment in human capital, equipping LGIs with the digital skills and competencies needed to navigate the modern NYSC ICT framework with confidence, innovation, and efficiency.
Also speaking at the event, the Director of Corps Welfare and Health Services, Omotade Ayodele, urged LGIs to uphold integrity, empathy, and vision in their work, stressing that they serve as ambassadors of the NYSC in their local communities.
The workshop brought together State Coordinators from Benue and Nasarawa, alongside Zonal and Local Government Inspectors from both states, underlining NYSC’s commitment to continuous capacity building and modernized service delivery.
