A fire outbreak on Monday morning affected a section of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation complex in Abuja, forcing workers to quickly evacuate parts of the building.
Eyewitnesses said the fire was first noticed around 8:20 a.m., when thick smoke began billowing from a section of the structure. The incident reportedly occurred in Section C of the Head of Service building within the government complex.
Staff members were seen hurriedly leaving the affected area as emergency responders were alerted and moved in to contain the situation.
The media department of the Office of the Head of Service later confirmed the incident, stating that the fire was confined to Section C and that emergency officials were already handling the situation.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire. Officials say an investigation will commence once the situation is fully brought under control.
