Nigerian singer Peruzzi has dismissed claims suggesting that superstar Davido owes his success in the music industry to him.
In recent social media posts, Peruzzi urged fans and critics to stop attributing Davido’s achievements solely to his songwriting contributions, stressing that Davido was already a rising star before their collaboration. He described such claims as “anything for clicks and likes”, emphasizing that teamwork plays a role in music but crediting Davido’s success entirely to one collaborator is unfair.
Peruzzi, who was signed under Davido’s Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) label, reminded audiences that his input is just part of a larger effort and does not define Davido’s career.
“This kind of narrative undermines Davido’s own vision, talent, and hard work,” he wrote, adding that fans should recognize the superstar’s achievements as a result of his dedication and artistry.
