Abati Fires Back at Atiku Over ‘Inexperienced’ Remark on Jonathan

Arise TV anchor Reuben Abati has criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over comments describing ex-President Goodluck Jonathan as “decent” but “inexperienced.”

Atiku, during a recent interview, attributed some of the challenges faced under Jonathan’s administration to what he described as insufficient leadership preparation remarks that have since sparked backlash among the former president’s supporters.

Reacting on the Arise TV Morning Show, Abati who served as Special Adviser on Media to Jonathan dismissed the comments as inappropriate and disrespectful.

He described Atiku’s statement as “condescending and very rude,” arguing that Jonathan had already attained the nation’s highest office, a feat Atiku is still striving to achieve.

“Jonathan was president of this country, a position that Atiku didn’t even get to,” Abati said. “He is still aspiring to get there decades after his initial ambition.”
