Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has opened up about her marriage to singer, politician and cleric Banky W, revealing that their relationship continues to grow stronger nearly a decade after they tied the knot.
Speaking in a recent interview hosted by Teju Babyface alongside her husband, Adesua shared that Banky W was not initially her ideal partner due to his multiple career paths.
“Before I met my husband, I told God I didn’t want to marry a musician, a pastor or a politician, but God gave me all three,” she said, adding that she ultimately accepted him based on what she described as divine instruction.
On his part, Banky W disclosed that Adesua confirmed he was her husband after initially turning him down several times.
He explained that he had been convinced she was his life partner for about a year and a half but waited patiently for her to come to the same realisation.
“Adesua called me on the phone one day and said, ‘Banky, you know you’re my husband right?’” he recounted.
The singer noted that her statement reinforced his belief, leading to their eventual union.
The couple got married in 2017 and have since built a family together with two children.
