Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has opened up about her past friendship with fellow movie star Genevieve Nnaji, revealing that the relationship gradually fell apart over time.
Speaking on the Tea and Tay podcast, Kate recalled that she and Genevieve once shared a close bond and were often seen attending events together during their early years in the entertainment industry.
According to her, things later changed unexpectedly as a distance began to grow between them. She disclosed that Genevieve appeared to develop some level of mistrust towards her, although she never understood what led to it.
“We grew apart. She had some kind of mistrust about me. We even used to go to events together, then there came that gap. I don’t know what came over her, but me, I moved on,” Kate said during the interview.
The actress noted that friendships sometimes change with time, adding that not everyone is meant to remain in one’s life forever. She explained that some relationships only last for certain seasons and serve different purposes along the way.
Her comments have since drawn reactions from fans who remember both actresses as two of Nollywood’s most admired stars, especially during the height of their careers in the industry.
