NAF Precision Airstrike Destroys Terrorist Hideout, Neutralises Fighters in Katsina

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a precision airstrike targeting a terrorist enclave in Katsina State, successfully destroying a major hideout and neutralising several fighters.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.

According to him, the operation was conducted on May 1 under the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, focusing on a location within the Dan-Aji Forest in Faskari Local Government Area.

Ejodame explained that the target served as a key logistics hub linked to a notorious terrorist kingpin, Abasu Aiki, and his network operating across the Faskari, Kankara, and Funtua axis.

He noted that the strike followed credible intelligence reports indicating renewed terrorist activity in the area.

“NAF air assets identified armed terrorists on motorcycles alongside other fighters within the enclave and executed a coordinated strike on the location. Battle damage assessment confirmed that several terrorists were neutralised, while the logistics hub and associated structures were destroyed,” he said.

The airstrike also triggered secondary explosions and widespread fires, further weakening the group’s operational capacity.

Ejodame added that the operation has significantly disrupted terrorist movement and supply chains within the area, reaffirming the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to eliminating safe havens and dismantling terrorist networks.
