Music producer ID Cabasa has criticised the Federal Government over the worsening insecurity in the country, accusing authorities of failing to take decisive action against killings, terrorism, and banditry.
In a video shared on Instagram, the veteran producer, born Olumide Ogunade, said many Nigerians have gradually become accustomed to violence and bloodshed because of the persistent attacks happening across the country.
He lamented that conversations around insecurity are often politicised, tribalised, or turned into religious debates instead of Nigerians uniting to confront the crisis collectively. According to him, terrorism and banditry continue to spread fear among citizens, with many parents now worried about the safety of their children.
Cabasa also expressed concern over what he described as society’s growing distraction with entertainment and online trends while violent attacks continue to claim lives in different parts of the country.
The producer further criticised the government’s approach to handling repentant terrorists, questioning why individuals accused of causing destruction and pain are being rehabilitated rather than facing justice for their actions.
He compared Nigeria’s response to insecurity with the stronger reactions often seen in countries like the United States, insisting that Nigerians deserve firmer action and reassurance from leaders in the face of ongoing violence and killings.
