Nigerian entertainer Portable has issued a bold challenge to heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, declaring he is ready to face him in the ring if offered a ₦1 billion purse.
The controversial singer made the statement on Thursday during a public face-off ahead of his celebrity boxing match against streamer Carter Efe.
Confident in his abilities, Portable described himself as the face of Nigerian boxing, insisting that no one can take the “belt” from him.
“For ₦1 billion, I’ll take you down,” he said while calling out Joshua during the event.
Portable and Carter Efe are set to clash in an exhibition boxing match on Friday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The singer had earlier disclosed in February that he received ₦40 million for accepting the fight against Carter Efe. He also claimed that businessman Emeka Okonkwo and music executive Soso Soberekon promised him ₦50 million each, along with a car, if he wins the bout.
Carter Efe, on his part, said he agreed to the fight after being informed that the winner would take home ₦50 million.
Portable has built a reputation in recent years through celebrity boxing matches. In April 2025, he defeated Speed Darlington in a widely discussed bout.
He also recorded victories against actor Charles Okocha in December 2023 and Kelvin Power, bodyguard to Kizz Daniel, in February 2024.
