Skales Reveals He Missed $300,000 Jewelry Deal, Says Footballers Earn More Than Musicians

Nigerian singer Skales has disclosed that he missed out on a $300,000 luxury jewelry deal linked to a young footballer, highlighting what he describes as the stronger earning power of footballers compared to musicians.

In a recent interview, Skales explained that footballers, even without global recognition, tend to earn more consistently than artists in the music industry.

He noted that unlike music which he described as unpredictable and dependent on long-term relevance football provides steady income through regular participation and performance.

“You don’t have to be globally famous to make serious money. You can just be a regular guy… they no dey bench you, and you go dey make money,” he said.

The singer further stressed that music often requires sustained popularity that feels “divine,” while footballers enjoy more stable financial rewards both on and off the pitch.

He revealed that the missed opportunity involved a young footballer and a jewelry deal worth over $300,000, which he said he could have benefited from.

Skales concluded by stating that only a few Nigerian musicians achieve significant wealth, while many others continue to struggle financially within the industry.
