Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the appointment of 10 Special Advisers and two Deputy Chiefs of Staff as part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery across the state.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Misilli, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi.
According to the statement, the appointments took effect from May 1, 2026, and are intended to reinforce the administration's governance framework while improving coordination between government institutions and communities throughout the state.
The statement noted that the appointments align with Governor Inuwa Yahaya's commitment to consolidating the achievements of his administration by strengthening strategic advisory roles and enhancing collaboration between government and the people.
The newly appointed Special Advisers are:
Ahmed Abubakar (Maidalan Gombe) – Chieftaincy Affairs
Abdulrahman Adamu (ES) – Inter-Party Relations
Dr. Ahmed Wali Doho – Education
Saidu Kawuwa Malala – Political and Community Relations (North)
Adamu Mohammed Waziri – Special Duties
Mohammed Shettima Gadam – Political and Community Engagement
Abubakar Hassan Difa – Rural Development and Community Relations
Iliya Suleiman – Youth Engagement
Lamido Buba Komfulata – Political Affairs
Asma'u Mohammed Iganus – Women Mobilisation
The governor also approved the appointment of Mohammed Adamu as Deputy Chief of Staff (Central) and Isiyaka Shu'aibu as Deputy Chief of Staff (South).
The statement expressed confidence that the appointees possess the experience and expertise needed to support the administration's development agenda and contribute to effective governance in Gombe State.
It added that Governor Inuwa Yahaya expects the new officials to play key roles in advancing government policies, improving service delivery, and ensuring the successful implementation of programmes that will benefit the people of the state.
The appointments are expected to strengthen policy execution, political engagement and community outreach across Gombe State, further supporting the administration's commitment to efficient and inclusive governance.
