The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has announced that applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme will officially open on Monday, June 29, offering Nigerians the opportunity to pursue a fully funded Master's degree in Ireland.
The embassy made the announcement in a post shared on its X handle on Friday, stating that the programme is designed for early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana who wish to undertake a one-year Master's programme at leading Irish universities.
"Applications for the Ireland Fellows Programme open on 29 June 2026! Apply for the opportunity to study in Ireland on a fully funded master's scholarship," the embassy stated.
It added that interested applicants from Nigeria and Ghana can obtain detailed information about the programme and its application process through the official Ireland Fellows Programme portal.
According to the eligibility requirements released by the embassy, applicants must be citizens and residents of either Nigeria or Ghana, possess at least a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower division, and have no fewer than three years of relevant professional work experience.
For Nigerian applicants, the fellowship also includes the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, which supports Master's degree programmes in Law, Human Rights and Governance.
The scholarship package covers tuition fees, monthly living allowance, accommodation support, airfare, visa expenses, and health insurance throughout the duration of the programme.
Applications will run from June 29, 2026, to July 26, 2026, and interested candidates are expected to submit their applications through the official Ireland Fellows Programme website.
