Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has called on residents of Kogi State to take advantage of the ongoing Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) registration exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before it closes on July 10, 2026.
In a statement released on Friday, the Kogi Central lawmaker encouraged eligible voters, particularly young people and first-time registrants, to obtain their PVCs and prepare to participate in future elections.
She described the voter card as a powerful instrument for influencing the direction of communities, states, and the nation, stressing that every eligible citizen has a role to play in the democratic process.
“Your vote remains your voice, and your voice matters in shaping the future of our communities, our state, and our nation,” Akpoti-Uduaghan stated while urging residents not to miss the registration window.
The senator also advised individuals with errors in their voter records or those requiring updates to their registration details to complete the necessary corrections before the deadline. She emphasized that no eligible voter should be left out of the electoral process.
Akpoti-Uduaghan further appealed to community leaders, youth groups, and civil society organisations to intensify grassroots awareness campaigns aimed at increasing voter registration across the state. According to her, democracy flourishes when citizens actively participate, adding that a PVC is not just a card but a symbol of the right to choose the future people desire.
