The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has reported that 165 people have died, 82 are missing, and 119,791 individuals have been affected by flooding across Nigeria in 2025.
This was disclosed in a data update released by the agency on Friday via its official data dashboard.
According to the report, 138 persons sustained various degrees of injuries, while 43,936 individuals have been displaced. In addition, 8,594 houses have been affected, and 8,278 farmlands destroyed across 43 Local Government Areas in 19 states.
NEMA highlighted that children and women were the most affected, noting specific figures:

The agency identified Imo, Rivers, Abia, Borno, and Kaduna States as the worst-hit in terms of the number of affected individuals.
The 19 states impacted by the floods include:
Abia, FCT, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Borno, Edo, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Ondo, Rivers, and Sokoto States.
NEMA continues to monitor the situation and coordinate emergency responses to mitigate the humanitarian impact of the disaster
