Former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has returned to Nigeria from London ahead of Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ganduje’s Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, confirmed in a statement that the former governor arrived in Abuja aboard a British Airways flight at about 5:30 a.m. on Monday. He is expected to proceed to Kano later in the day to participate in key political engagements across the state.
“The former governor is scheduled to take part in the APC’s electronic registration of members, a programme he initiated during his tenure as national chairman,” Garba said.
He added, “Ganduje is also expected to play a prominent role in the planned reception of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who is set to formally join the APC.”
Ganduje had traveled to London to attend the graduation ceremony of his daughter, Fatima Ganduje, at King’s College, London. Fatima, who is married to Idris Ajimobi, son of the late former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, graduated on Thursday with a Master’s degree from the prestigious institution.
