Award-winning singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disclosed that his lifestyle and priorities have changed significantly following his marriage to his longtime partner, Chioma Adeleke.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Long Form podcast, Davido said he now prefers spending quiet time at home with his family or staying connected with his wife via FaceTime while on trips, rather than going clubbing for leisure.
Reflecting on his early years in the spotlight, the singer admitted that fame, freedom and wealth at a young age influenced a reckless lifestyle that included frequent club outings.
“Blowing up at a young age with freedom, power and money, I used to be very reckless. I used to go to the club every day,” he said.
Davido noted that things have since changed, revealing that during a recent stay in Nigeria that lasted almost two months, he barely went out.
“But these days, I don’t even go to the clubs. I was in Nigeria for almost two months and I didn’t go out. I was just at home and I was having fun. I was just chilling in my studio and inviting people to make barbecue for me. It was fun. And before you know it, it’s 3am or 4:30am. I just go home, call my wife, sleep off on FaceTime,” he added.
The singer, however, clarified that he still steps out for work-related engagements, including performances and events, as well as special occasions hosted by close associates.
He further stated that he now places greater value on family time and adequate rest than on nightlife and social outings.
