Osimhen Reaches 200 Career Goals as Galatasaray Thrash Kayserispor

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen produced a commanding performance on Sunday as Galatasaray cruised to a 4–0 victory over Kayserispor, strengthening their hold on the Turkish Super Lig title race.

The Nigerian forward marked the occasion by scoring the 200th goal of his professional career, 165 at club level and 35 for Nigeria, capping an outstanding display that earned him the Man of the Match award.

League leaders Galatasaray asserted their dominance early, opening the scoring in the seventh minute when Kayserispor defender Aaron Opoku accidentally turned the ball into his own net while attempting to intercept a dangerous cross.

Osimhen’s impact became more direct in the 26th minute when he won a penalty after being fouled inside the box. He calmly converted the spot-kick to double Galatasaray’s advantage and reach the historic 200-goal milestone.

After the break, the striker continued to dictate the tempo. Shortly after the hour mark, Osimhen sparked a swift counterattack, drawing defenders before setting up Gabriel Sara, who finished clinically to make it 3–0 and effectively put the game beyond reach.

Galatasaray completed the emphatic win later in the second half after earning another penalty, which Mauro Icardi confidently dispatched.

Osimhen was substituted in the 82nd minute, having delivered a complete performance. He recorded an 88 per cent pass completion rate, created two clear chances, registered seven shots on target, and finished with a goal and an assist.

The victory further cemented Galatasaray’s position at the top of the Super Lig standings, while Osimhen’s milestone reinforced his reputation as one of Africa’s most prolific and influential forwards, continuing to set new benchmarks while leading from the front.
