Tems, Burna Boy Set New Record as Africa’s Most-Charted Acts on Billboard Hot 100

Nigerian music stars Tems and Burna Boy have emerged as the African artistes with the highest number of entries on the Billboard Hot 100, breaking a long-standing tie with South African rock group Seether.

Before this week, Tems, Burna Boy and Seether were all level on seven entries each. However, new chart appearances credited to the Nigerian duo have now pushed them ahead, following their guest features on J. Cole’s latest album, The Fall-Off.

‘Bounce Road Blues’, featuring Tems alongside Future, debuted at number 34 on the chart, while ‘Only You’, which features Burna Boy, entered at number 78. These fresh entries bring both Nigerian stars to a joint total of eight Billboard Hot 100 appearances the highest ever recorded by African artistes.

For Tems, the latest achievement further cements an impressive year on the charts. She has now secured three Billboard Hot 100 entries in 2026 alone, through ‘Raindance’ with Dave, ‘What You Need’, and the newly charting ‘Bounce Road Blues’. She currently holds the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 entries by any African artiste this year.

Burna Boy, on the other hand, has reached another historic milestone, becoming the first African artiste to place a song on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years. His charting records span ‘Loved By You’ (2021), ‘Last Last’ (2022), ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ and ‘Talibans II’ (2023), ‘Just Like Me’ and ‘We Pray’ (2024), ‘WGFT’ (2025), and now ‘Only You’ in 2026.

The latest feat underscores the growing global influence of Afrobeats and Nigerian music on the world’s biggest charts.
