The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sent a strong message on leadership and internal unity, with party leaders insisting that governance must remain rooted in the will of the people as efforts continue to stabilise the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking amid ongoing reconciliation moves, party stakeholders stressed that leadership must reflect the aspirations of the people and remain accountable to them.
“Ultimate power resides with the people; it must therefore remain the centrepiece of governance,” he said.
In a further display of internal solidarity, the Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) passed a vote of confidence on Governors Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed, commending both leaders for the roles they played during the party’s recent crisis.
The party also expressed appreciation to Nigerians who have continued to register through its online platform, noting that public support has remained steady despite recent political turbulence.
With both camps now engaged in dialogue and showing signs of compromise, attention is shifting to the next phase of the party’s internal process whether the current opening will produce a lasting resolution or whether existing cracks will deepen as the race toward 2027 intensifies.
