President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that Nigeria will never succumb to terrorists or individuals seeking to destabilize the nation, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to protecting the country’s unity and security.
The president made the statement on Monday while speaking at an interfaith Iftar with religious and traditional leaders at the Presidential Villa, where he stressed that the government remains determined to confront insecurity and preserve national stability.
Tinubu said despite ongoing challenges, the country is making progress in its fight against terrorism and other security threats.
“Nigeria will never allow troublemakers and terrorists to undermine our peace, unity, or independence,” the president said. “We face challenges, but we are determined to succeed, and we will do so fairly and strongly.”
The president assured that security agencies are intensifying operations across the country and that extremist groups are gradually losing ground.
According to him, the government remains resolute in ensuring that citizens can live and work in safety while national institutions continue to function without disruption.
Nigeria has faced persistent security challenges in recent years, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnappings, particularly in parts of the northern region.
Beyond security, Tinubu also pointed to improving economic indicators, expressing optimism that government reforms are beginning to yield positive results.
He said early signs of recovery are emerging and that many Nigerians, particularly the elderly, are gradually beginning to feel relief as economic conditions stabilize.
The president used the interfaith gathering to emphasize the importance of unity among Nigerians regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to leading the country with fairness, dedication, and transparency.
“I remain committed to serving this nation with loyalty and dedication,” Tinubu said, adding that Nigeria will continue to protect its people while working toward long-term stability and development.
The Iftar gathering brought together prominent clerics, traditional rulers, and community leaders, underscoring the administration’s effort to foster dialogue and collaboration across religious and cultural lines in Abuja.
