Popular Nigerian social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has issued a stern warning to human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, threatening legal action if his image is used without consent.
The heated exchange follows Sowore’s criticism of the recent remand of businessman B-Lord, which he described as “not a victory.” Sowore also cautioned against what he termed the weaponisation of the legal system in the handling of the case.
In a strongly worded response that has since gone viral, VeryDarkMan doubled down on his position, insisting that any unauthorized use of his image would attract serious legal consequences—regardless of who is involved.
“If dem born you well, use my picture without my consent… I will lock you up. Put am for billboard, I go send you go prison,” he declared.
The statement marks a significant escalation in the ongoing war of words, with VeryDarkMan framing the issue as one of personal rights and legal boundaries rather than activism or oppression.
The controversy stems from a ruling by the Federal High Court of Nigeria, which ordered the remand of B-Lord at Kuje Correctional Facility for 26 days. The charges reportedly include impersonation, identity theft, forgery, and breach of privacy, all linked to allegations involving VeryDarkMan.
Reacting to the development, Sowore called for restraint and urged his legal representative, Marshal D F Abubakar, to withdraw from the case, arguing that justice should not be reduced to punitive measures.
However, VeryDarkMan’s latest remarks suggest he is prepared to pursue the matter to its fullest extent, further intensifying tensions surrounding the case.
