Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has accepted a ₦10 million celebrity boxing challenge issued by show promoter Paulo Okoye, further escalating her long-running feud with fellow actress Iyabo Ojo.
Anjorin confirmed her acceptance in an Instagram post dated May 3, 2026, declaring, “As at today, 3rd May 2026, I accept your challenge.” However, she introduced a new condition, insisting that Paulo must first face her husband, Chief Lawal, in a 10-round boxing match before she steps into the ring with Ojo.
The development marks another twist in the actresses’ ongoing dispute, which has spanned legal battles, public accusations, and defamation claims. In 2024, Okoye initially proposed the idea of a celebrity boxing match between Anjorin and Ojo, attaching a ₦10 million prize for the winner.
Their rivalry intensified in 2025 when Iyabo Ojo filed a ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit against Anjorin, although the case was later dismissed. Since then, both actresses have continued to exchange words across social media and public platforms.
Anjorin’s acceptance of the challenge comes amid a rising trend of celebrity boxing matches in Nigeria’s entertainment industry. Recently, street-pop artiste Portable lost a widely publicised bout to comedian Carter Efe at a celebrity boxing event in Lagos, further boosting interest in such contests.
