Ned Nwoko has rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Delta North, insisting that the process was manipulated and that he was the actual winner.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Nwoko disputed the result that reportedly produced former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the winner. He maintained that the election process did not reflect what happened on the ground.
He explained that the primaries were conducted across 98 wards, adding that he had video evidence from each ward which, according to him, clearly showed that he won the contest. He said he intends to submit the footage to the party to back up his claim.
Nwoko also raised concerns about changes in the process midway through the exercise. He said delegates were initially told that results would be announced at the ward level, but later informed that collation would be done at the national level instead.
According to him, what followed was unexpected, as a result from just one ward—allegedly linked to the former governor—was eventually used to declare the winner. He described the situation as unfair and inconsistent with the agreed procedure.
He further alleged that the Delta State government was working in collaboration with Okowa to influence the outcome of the primary. Nwoko insisted that the process was compromised and vowed to pursue the matter through the appropriate party channels.
