365 Students Ousted from MAPOLY Over Fake Results and Transcripts

Authorities of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, have expelled 365 students after discovering that they secured admission into the institution using falsified academic documents.

In a statement issued on Monday by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Yemi Ajibola, it was revealed that the affected students were found to have submitted fake National Diploma results and forged academic transcripts from various institutions during the admission process.

Ajibola explained that all the expelled students were enrolled in Higher National Diploma programmes and were uncovered during a detailed verification exercise carried out on academic records submitted at the point of admission and registration.

He said the decision reflects the institution’s determination to clean up the system and enforce its zero-tolerance policy on academic fraud and other forms of misconduct.

According to the breakdown provided, the School of Communication and Information Technology recorded the highest number with 156 affected students, followed by the School of Business and Management Studies with 117. The School of Science and Technology had 54, the School of Engineering 36, while the School of Environmental Studies recorded two cases.

The Rector of the institution, Dr Koye Jolaoso, warned prospective applicants against engaging in any form of document falsification, stressing that the move underscores MAPOLY’s commitment to academic integrity, transparency, and maintaining its standards as a reputable institution of higher learning.
