The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) has released its shortlist for the Men’s and Women’s Player of the Year awards, with several standout performers from the Premier League earning recognition across all categories.
In the Men’s Player of the Year category, Arsenal trio Gabriel Magalhães, David Raya, and Declan Rice were all nominated following their impressive contributions to the club’s Premier League title-winning campaign. They are joined by Manchester City duo Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland, as well as Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
For the Women’s Player of the Year award, reigning winner Bunny Shaw is in contention to retain her crown after another strong season with Manchester City. She is shortlisted alongside teammate Yui Hasegawa, Chelsea forward Lauren James, Arsenal striker Alessia Russo, Aston Villa’s Kirsty Hanson, and Manchester United midfielder Jess Park.
The PFA also announced nominees for the Men’s Young Player of the Year award, where Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki appears again after earning a second nomination across categories.
He is joined on the shortlist by Arsenal teenager Max Dowman, Bournemouth’s Junior Kroupi, Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha, and Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly.
The final nominees highlight a strong showing from Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, and other Premier League clubs, reflecting a season dominated by young emerging talent and consistent top-level performances across English football.
