The Super Eagles of Nigeria will continue their build-up for upcoming international competitions when they face Poland in a friendly match, coming off the back of their Unity Cup success in London.
Eric Chelle’s side go into the game in good spirits after beating Jamaica 3-0 on Saturday to win the Unity Cup and extend their unbeaten run under the Malian coach.
The match also gives both teams a chance to test themselves, especially as Nigeria and Poland both missed out on qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and are now focused on rebuilding for future tournaments.
Nigeria are expected to use the game to assess more players in Chelle’s evolving squad, with several new faces impressing during the Unity Cup, including Femi Azeez before his injury setback.
However, the Super Eagles will be without Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman. Coach Chelle said Osimhen was given time off due to club-related issues, while Lookman was rested after a long and tiring season.
Poland head into the fixture on the back of defeats to Ukraine and Sweden, with stars like Robert Lewandowski, Jakub Kiwior and Matty Cash expected to feature. The match will be played on Wednesday, June 3, at the National Stadium in Warsaw, with kick-off at 7:45 p.m. Nigerian time.
